A little while ago I got an e-mail from Mark, who is taking a break from his Mark's Ephemera blog to do some other things. He said he some stuff to send to an Astros fan. I think I responded by saying that I probably didn't have much from his want list to send in return. He said it didn't matter. Then I forgot about it. He forgot about it too, for a while. Then I got an e-mail from him saying that he had sent a package and I should expect it soon. It arrived near the end of last week, and it was a little larger than I expected (that's what she said!). First up was this Greeneville Astros cup, which celebrates their Rookie-league Championship in 2004.
Also included in the box was a Jose Altuve jersey that is pretty similar to the one pictured here:
It's pretty cool. I wore it around all day. I actually pulled the Altuve jersey out of the box first, and I kind of wondered how a guy from Tennessee came into possession of an Astros jersey. Then I saw the Greeneville Astros cup and it all made sense to me.
