2017 Panini The National Danica Patrick Parallels

I picked up a couple parallels of Danica Patrick's card from 2017 Panini - The National a few months ago. I figured now would be a good time to show them off, as she's been in the news lately. Today she confirmed that she has been dating NFL quarterback Aaron Rodgers recently after breaking things off with long-time boyfriend Ricky Stenhouse Jr.

This one is apparently called the Rapture parallel. It's got waves of sparkly dots to set it apart. I got copy # 82 / 99. I think I've mentioned it before, but those red, white, and blue shoes that she is wearing are awesome. She mentioned in a video interview once that she likes to wear cool shoes because they draw more bids at charity auctions.

This parallel is called Pyramids. It's a little tougher to find than the other one, and mine is # 04 / 10. It seems like Danica Patrick's post-racing career is going pretty well, as she's been heavily promoting her new book and working on a couple of other projects like a wine label and her clothing line.

  1. I was reading about the dating duo earlier today as well. Cool cards!

    1. I was surprised by the news, but I guess people move in and out of relationships all the time. Hopefully everyone involved is happy.

  2. ...and the Illinois native is a Bears fan, at that! Not that it really matters, but it's funny the way things work out. Can't wait to see her back at Indianapolis this May!

    1. Hopefully her rooting interests don't create too much trouble in the relationship. It will be nice to see her on the track a couple more times.

  3. Love the look of the Pyramids parallel. Not quite sure why it's call Pyramids though.

    1. I was trying to figure that out as well. There is kind of a tiered or stacked look to the design, but pyramids aren't really the first things that come to mind when I look at that pattern.
