It's been quite a while since I've added much of note to my Danica Patrick player collection, as Press Pass went out of business and no one else has stepped up to fill the NASCAR trading card void. Most of the cards currently for sale are the same overpriced Buy It Now listings that have been running over and over since the dawn of time. I was able to grab a couple of cards recently, though, as they popped up in my feed with reasonable Buy It Now prices and I got to them before anyone else could. They weren't great deals, but they were good deals. This first one is a triple relic Pit Road Pieces card that I believe came from the 2015 Press Pass Cup Chase Racing set. It features a couple of nice photos of Danica's pit crew at work and three relic swatches labeled as Firesuit, Sheet Metal, and Tire. It is a serially-numbered card, with this one being copy # 29 / 50.
Danica started today's AAA Texas 500 in 11th place, which gave her a pretty good shot at another Top 10 finish for the year. Unfortunately she trended in the wrong direction and fell to 16th by the end of the race, which is still a pretty good finish compared to her season average. Last week she finished 40th in the Goody's Headache Relief Shot 500 after wrecking herself in an attempt to knock David Gilliland out of the race in retaliation for his aggressive driving earlier in the race. Gilliland would go on to finish in 24th and Danica got fined and lost some driver points.
