I guess it's a bit late in the year for this, but I finally grabbed the NASCAR cards from this year's Panini Father's Day set. They were a lot cheaper in August than they were a couple of months ago.
Only three drivers made it onto the multi-sport checklist, with Danica Patrick, Dale Earnhardt Jr., and Kevin Harvick making the cut. I think the card design is all right if a little unexciting, but I was mostly just happy to have new NASCAR cards available again after Press Pass went out of business.
The card backs look all right, too, with a little bit of color and a paragraph about the driver's career. I honestly wasn't that interested in getting Harvick's card, but I added it to my cart along with the others because it was pretty cheap. It would be fun to add some parallels and inserts from the set to my collection, but I haven't been very good about tracking that kind of stuff down. There is too much available and when I focus in on one part of my collection it seems to take away from the other stuff I like. I don't want my hobby to feel like a job, and sometimes trying to keep track of everything feels a lot like work.
