Taking a 'Saki Break

I can't believe I hadn't read this blog post from Sports Illustrated's Extra Mustard before. I must not be a true fan. They also posted some new Kawasaki material today. Go look at it. It'll make for a good Friday.

Speaking of the Blue Jays, I thought R.A. Dickey was going to get through his start yesterday without too much damage. Then the 5th inning happened. Dang it all to heck. The Astros are no good. The Blue Jays can't get it done. At least Oakland is doing all right. If you have enough favorite teams, one of them is bound to be doing well at any given time. If this paragraph is getting you down, go back and look at some of that Kawasaki stuff.

  1. Fun fact, Munenori Kawasaki has a short print/exchange card in the 2012 Sega Card Gen set that depicts him as a Mariner. I regret not picking it up when I had the chance.

    1. Man, that would be a cool card to have. He doesn't have a lot of cardboard out there, and that would be one highlight of a Kawasaki PC.

  2. I love this guy! Every video I see him in... he's either dancing, smiling, or making me smile. Glad to hear he's back in the Bigs.

    1. Yeah, he definitely knows how to brighten up a day. Unfortunately, he just got sent back down to AAA with Jose Reyes coming off the DL. I hope he's able to make his way back up soon.

  3. I'd heard about Kawasaki, but didn't really know much about him... I just watched all the videos on the links you gave, and then spent at least another half-hour watching more videos on YouTube. How can you not like this guy?

    1. It's impossible not to like him. You'd have to be one heck of a curmudgeon to watch Kawasaki footage and not have a good time.
