2013 Allen & Ginter's is released today, so that means Gint-A-Cuffs V is live. Gint-A-Cuffs is a contest between various bloggers to see who can pull the best cards from their box. There are various rules for scoring, of which my favorite is the -1 point for a card featuring a Yankee. I am a little bit worried, though, as it seems like I can't stop pulling Alex Roidriguez cards from my packs of cards. That hasn't been reflected in my Pack of the Day posts as I refuse to give him the benefit of being featured on my blog.
Topps provided three boxes of Allen & Ginter's to be divvied up in some manner between the contest winners. I would like to see a structured prize pack, like 2 boxes for first place and 1 box for second place, mostly because I am selfish and that would give me the best chance to win something.
Dave and Adam's Card World is the official dealer sponsor of the contest, and they graciously provided a discount code for participants who purchased their boxes from them. My box of cards has been shipped and should arrive on Thursday or Friday.
I've been trying to think of how I can get the most enjoyment out of this contest. I think I may number the packs and hand them off to my wife so that she can dole out two packs per day and I can blog the box and my points over the course of a couple of weeks.
